Al Nagel

As you know, Al Nagel passed away this summer. We really didn’t want to let Al’s death pass us by without recognizing his many years of service to our Waterford Wave organization and youth sports in Waterford in some way.

Therefore, the Waterford Wave Board prepared a Certificate of Appreciation in memory of Al which we presented to Al’s wife Mary Ann at the Waterford Township Board meeting on Monday, October 26th at 6:30pm.

It was a nice event that featured many friends, colleagues, former Wave coaches, and current Wave coaches on hand to show their support and appreciation.

The Waterford Wave is very proud of our 13U and 10U Coach Chris Colon, nominated for the 2010 Citizen of the Year by the Waterford Coalition for Youth.  It is nice to see others recognize what we've known for years!  Congratulations, Chris, we are so very proud to call you one of us!

The Waterford Wave proudly recognizes our student athletes:

Jayno Adams 5th Grade Spelling Bee Champion & Student of the Month - Lexi Colon, is going to the Regional spelling bee on Feb 20th, 2010. Good luck Lexi!  Lexi Munley was one of the top spellers as well finishing 5th overall.

"Our history and key goals can be found on the "About Us" page of our website, and on the "Home" page is our philosophy and vision.

Perhaps one aspect of the Wave that our website does not show is the sense of family that we have cultivated over the years.  When involved with a tournament, our girls will give an inspiring cheer from the baseline for another Wave team.  Our coaches help one another out with sharing drills, helping with talent selection, tournament selection, scrimmaging, and year-round open gyms, workouts, and practice.  New coaches have an opportunity to learn from an existing coach how the organization and AAU works.  Coaches work together if there are sisters on separate teams to find tournaments that work for each family.  All of these things and more make the Wave what it is, a collective group of families working together to provide the very best experience for your daughter."
