Feb 20th 2010. Lexi Colon went to the Regional Spelling Bee for the Oakland Press at Oakland University. There were 120 participants. She was very nervous, almost getting knocked out in the first round by the word DENIM, after a 45 minute wait until it was her turn, she was #106. She re-grouped and made it to the 3rd round by spelling CRESCENDO. At this point I had to leave to go to the Eastern Michigan Tournament. My wife said the word she lost on, she could not even pronounce it and she has a bachelor's degree!! I believe it may have been TAGLIATELLE. No wonder!! We are very proud of Lexi's accomplishment. It takes a lot of guts to do what she did, and to make it as far as she did. Congratulations Lexi!!

Teaching life skills and basketball intelligence, fundamentals and set plays, without babying them, and with a little sense of humor thrown in…okay a lot of sense of humor, they are 10!

Coach Colon believes that if you toughen them up at an early age, they will excel: Not only on the court, but in Life. The response from them is absolutely great!
